Chase Budinger scored a career-high 30 points off the bench, including 11 straight in the fourth quarter, and Chuck Hayes had 17 rebounds in the Houston Rockets’ 124-119 road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
Budinger and Kevin Martin combined to score the Rockets’ final 24 points. Martin also scored 30 points after scoring a career-high 40 against Cleveland in December.
Courtney Lee, whose name keeps surfacing in trade rumors, scored 16 points off the bench for the Rockets.
Antawn Jamison scored 26 points and Manny Harris had 21 off the bench for the Cavaliers, who were without point guard Mo Williams and top reserve Daniel Gibson. Williams missed the game with a sore ankle and Gibson was absent due to personal reasons.
The Rockets hammered the Cavs on the boards, 57-37. Thirteen of Hayes’ 17 rebounds were offensive.
