Recap

Reserve James Jones scored 20 points with a career-high six 3-pointers to help the Heat bounce back from Tuesday’s season-opening loss in Boston and hand the 76ers a setback in Doug Collins’ first game as coach.

James had 16 points and seven assists as Miami was a much more cohesive unit in its second game. Fellow superstar newcomer Chris Bosh had 15 points and seven rebounds.

Miami led by eight at halftime before taking control by outscoring Philadelphia 31-13 in the third quarter to take an 80-54 lead entering the final period.

James committed nine turnovers for a two-game total of 17.
