Indians beat Yankees 6-2, run win streak to five

NEW YORK -- Corey Kluber pitched eight strong innings and was supported by four solo homers as the Cleveland Indians beat the New York Yankees 6-2 on Monday night at Yankee Stadium.
The Indians (74-56) have won five straight, during which they have outscored the opposition 39-8. The Yankees (70-60) fell to 2-2 on a season-long 10-game homestand.
Kluber (13-4) allowed two runs, three hits and one walk while striking out seven. He gave up a homer to Chase Headley leading off the third inning, and he retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced after Todd Frazier's go-ahead RBI single in the fifth.
Kluber is 10-2 with a 1.90 ERA in 17 starts since being activated from the disabled list on June 1.
Cody Allen tossed a perfect ninth in a non-save situation.
Jose Ramirez hit two homers for the Indians -- their only two hits against Yankees right-hander Luis Severino before Carlos Santana's one-out blast in the seventh snapped a 2-2 tie.
Bradley Zimmer added a run later in the seventh when he singled, stole second, advanced to third on an error by second baseman Starlin Castro and scored on a wild pitch by Adam Warren.
Austin Jackson homered in the eighth off Warren, and Zimmer tacked on an RBI double in the ninth against Chasen Shreve.
Severino (11-6) allowed four runs (three earned), four hits and three walks while striking out nine in 6 2/3 innings.
The Yankees managed only three hits.
NOTES: Yankees RF Aaron Judge didn't play and may also sit out Tuesday. Manager Joe Girardi acknowledged Judge has been icing his shoulders after games lately but said the rest was more to allow Judge to clear his head. Judge is batting .179 with 65 strikeouts in 145 at-bats since the All-Star break. ... Girardi said Yankees DH Matt Holliday (back) may soon move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. ... Cleveland OF Abraham Almonte (left hamstring) went 1-for-3 in his first rehab game for Triple-A Columbus. ... Indians RHP Danny Salazar (right elbow) threw on flat ground and is scheduled for a bullpen session on Tuesday.
