SEATTLE -- Mark Reynolds and Nolan Arenado hit home runs as the Colorado Rockies defeated the injury-plagued Seattle Mariners 6-3 Thursday afternoon to salvage the finale of a two-city, four-game interleague series.

Left-hander Kyle Freeland (6-3) allowed two runs on six hits in six innings for the Rockies, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Freeland, who improved to 4-0 on the road, walked two, struck out three and hit three batters with pitches.

Reynolds hit a tape-measure, two-run homer to break a scoreless tie in the second inning. The 450-foot shot cleared the Seattle bullpen and the out-of-town scoreboard in left-center field and just missed reaching Safeco Field's second deck. It was Reynolds' 14th home run of the season.

The Rockies scored four runs in the inning off Seattle starter Yovani Gallardo (2-6).

Arenado added a solo shot, his 13th of the season, off Gallardo leading off the third. The ball landed in the Rockies' bullpen in left field.

The Mariners, who won their previous four games to match a season high, suffered a pair of potentially costly injuries.

Shortstop Jean Segura and designated hitter Nelson Cruz both left Thursday's game early.

Cruz, who entered play as the American League leader in RBIs with 42, was hit on the left hand by a pitch from Freeland in the third inning. Boog Powell replaced Cruz when his cleanup spot in the order came back around in the fifth inning.

Segura, who began the day as the AL's leading hitter with a .344 batting average, was injured on an awkward slide into second base in the fourth inning.

Segura tried to tag up from first base on a fly to left field by Danny Valencia. Rockies third baseman Arenado took the cutoff throw and threw to second, where DJ LeMahieu tagged out Segura, who appeared to make a late slide, for an inning-ending double play.

After staying down for more than a minute, Segura was helped off the field by assistant athletic trainer Rob Nodine and first-base coach Casey Candaele.

The Mariners announced Segura, who previously spent time on the disabled list this season with a strained right hamstring, was undergoing further examination on his ankle.

Seattle's Guillermo Heredia hit a solo home run in the second inning. Heredia lined a 2-2 pitch from Freeland just over the wall in left field and into the Rockies' bullpen. It was Heredia's fourth homer of the season.

The Mariners scored in the seventh off Rockies reliever Chris Rusin and brought the potential tying run to the plate. But with two runners on, Rusin got Kyle Seager to pop out to shortstop Trevor Story and struck out Heredia to end the threat.

After the Rockies' Jake McGee pitched a scoreless eighth, Greg Holland came on to get his major league leading 20th save in as many opportunities.

NOTES: Colorado LF Gerardo Parra went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI. ... Seattle RHP Casey Lawrence allowed one run on three hits in five innings of relief, striking out nine. ... The Rockies next head to San Diego for a three-game series. RHP German Marquez (4-2, 3.76 ERA) is scheduled to face Padres LHP Clayton Richard (3-6, 4.33 ERA) in the opener Friday. ... Seattle stays at home this weekend to face Tampa Bay. RHP Christian Bergman (2-2, 4.67 ERA) is set to match up against Rays RHP Jake Odorizzi (3-2, 3.14 ERA) to begin the three-game series.
