Recap

Phillies 3, Nationals 1: Kevin Frandsen's pinch-hit RBI double in the seventh inning made a winner of Kyle Kendrick as host Philadelphia overcame four errors to seize three of four from its National League East rival.

Ben Revere, who went 2-for-4 with a two-out RBI single in the fifth inning, recorded his sixth multi-hit game of the month and 28th this season. Domonic Brown also had two hits for the Phillies, who improved to 7-3 in July despite a career-high three errors from second baseman Chase Utley.

With the contest tied at 1-1, Darin Ruf doubled to lead off the seventh inning before pinch runner John McDonald advanced to third on Carlos Ruiz's sacrifice bunt. Frandsen, who came in to bat for Kendrick, recorded his major league-leading 11th pinch hit after lifting a double to right-center field off Jordan Zimmermann (12-4) to plate the go-ahead run.

Kendrick (8-6) snapped a two-game losing skid after allowing one run on five hits in seven innings. Antonio Bastardo retired the side in order in the eighth before Utley scored an insurance run in the bottom half of the frame. Jonathan Papelbon finished it off with his 20th save.

Bryce Harper tripled and scored on Ryan Zimmerman's sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Former Phillie Jayson Werth had a pair of singles to extend his hitting streak to eight games for the Nationals.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Zimmermann suffered his first loss since May 29 and fell to 2-5 in his career versus Philadelphia. He yielded two runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. ... Utley's three-error game was the first by a Phillie since maligned 3B David Bell on May 17, 2005. ... The Phillies will conclude their 10-game homestand by opening a three-game set against the Chicago White Sox on Friday. The Nationals will wrap up a seven-game road trip by opening a three-game series in Miami on Friday.
