Recap

Yankees 5, Blue Jays 3 (11): An Aaron Loup throwing error allowed the go-ahead runs to score in the 11th inning as visiting New York earned its ninth win in 11 games.

With two men on and nobody out, Ichiro Suzuki laid down a bunt to the right of Loup (1-1). The left-hander's throw missed third baseman Brett Lawrie - who was caught out of position after charging the bunt - and sailed into shallow left field, bringing home Vernon Wells and Francisco Cervelli.

The outburst made a winner out of Shawn Kelley (1-0), who recorded the final two outs of the 10th. Mariano Rivera worked around a leadoff double to record his fifth save.

Wells hit a second-inning homer off the left-field foul pole and Kevin Youkilis padded the lead in the fourth with a liner to third base that bounced off Lawrie's glove and into left field, scoring Jayson Nix and Brett Gardner.

Toronto's listless offense finally rallied in the eighth. Rajai Davis laced a two-out RBI hit and Melky Cabrera followed with a single that caromed off the glove of center fielder Gardner, allowing two runs to score.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York starter Hiroki Kuroda limited the Blue Jays to a run on three hits while striking out seven in 7 1/3 innings. Toronto counterpart Mark Buehrle struck out a season-high seven over seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits in his 400th career major-league start. ... Toronto has scored first just five times in 18 games. ... Youkilis left the game in the sixth inning with back tightness. Lyle Overbay took over at first base.
