Recap

Marlins 5, Phillies 1:
Alex Sanabia pitched 6 1/3 solid innings to snap a five-start losing streak and Justin Ruggiano had two RBIs - including a tiebreaking RBI double in the sixth - for host Miami.

Sanabia (3-6) allowed one run and seven hits as Miami won its second straight after losing seven in a row. Ryan Webb relieved Sanabia with runners on first and third and one out in the seventh, retiring pinch hitter Laynce Nix on a short fly out and Jimmy Rollins on a grounder to keep it at 2-1.

The Phillies' Cole Hamels (1-7) lost his fourth straight start - and his fourth in a row to the Marlins - after yielding two runs, seven hits and striking out a season-high 10. Domonic Brown homered and had two hits for Philadelphia.

Miami took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on rookie Marcell Ozuna's RBI single to center with two outs before Brown deposited Sanabia's changeup into the right-field seats in the second. Chris Coghlan kept it a 1-1 game when he ran down Brown's bid for extra bases in left field with two on and two out in the sixth.

Placido Polanco led off the Marlins' sixth inning with a single and three batters later, Ruggiano broke an 0-for-18 slide with an RBI double off the right-field wall. Miami put it away in the eight when Ruggiano delivered an RBI single and Nick Green drove in a pair with a two-out broken-bat blooper to left-center.
