Recap

Marlins 7, Mets 5:
Starter Alex Sanabia pitched six shutout innings and Greg Dobbs homered as visiting Miami took a six-run lead and held on for its first victory of the season.

Sanabia (1-0), making his first appearance in the majors since September 24, 2011, allowed six hits and three walks while striking out one. Placido Polanco had three hits, including a two-run single that highlighted a five-run outburst in the seventh inning for the Marlins, who scored only once in their first three contests.

Daniel Murphy drilled a three-run homer in the seventh to pull the Mets within 6-3 before Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Lucas Duda each knocked in runs in the ninth. New York starter Jeremy Hefner (0-1) gave up one run on five hits in six innings.

Dobbs barely cleared the right-field wall with his solo home run, which led off the second inning to give Miami a 1-0 lead. The Mets had six hits in the first four innings and left eight on base through six frames against Sanabia.

Miami loaded the bases with an error, a walk and a fielder’s choice against reliever Greg Burke in the seventh before Polanco lined his two-run single to right field for a 3-0 lead. Dobbs’ sacrifice fly and consecutive RBI doubles by Justin Ruggiano and Rob Brantly pushed the Marlins’ advantage to 6-0.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ruggiano also had an RBI single in the ninth as Miami manager Mike Redmond earned his first major league victory. … Mets starting pitchers have allowed four runs in 26 innings through the first four games. … The Marlins placed 1B Casey Kotchman on the 15-day disabled list Friday and recalled C Kyle Skipworth.
