Dodgers 3, Yankees 2: Mark Ellis' two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted surging Los Angeles to its fourth consecutive victory and 27th in 33 games.

Ellis looped a single off Shawn Kelley (3-1) over the head of New York shortstop Derek Jeter to plate Andre Ethier and give the Dodgers their 10th win in 11 games since the All-Star break. It was the second consecutive walk-off victory for Los Angeles and its eighth straight one-run triumph.

Juan Uribe homered and Hanley Ramirez had two hits and an RBI for Los Angeles, which received seven solid innings from starter Zack Greinke. Kenley Jansen (4-3) pitched a scoreless ninth to notch the victory as the Dodgers opened a 3 1/2-game lead over Arizona atop the National League West.

Lyle Overbay homered and drove in both runs for the Yankees, who dropped the opener of their eight-game road trip to fall 8 1/2 games behind first-place Tampa Bay in the AL East. Left-hander Andy Pettitte gave up two runs on eight hits over seven innings, while Greinke allowed two runs and five hits.

Rookie Yasiel Puig doubled and scored on Ramirez's single in the first before Overbay tied it with his 12th homer in the second. Uribe went deep in the bottom of the inning for a 2-1 lead, but the Yankees evened it in the fourth as Alfonso Soriano doubled and scored on Overbay's groundout.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ramirez extended his hitting streak to 11 games and has reached base in 37 straight contests. ... The Dodgers signed free-agent RHP Brian Wilson to a one-year contract Tuesday. Wilson, who has not pitched since undergoing Tommy John elbow surgery in April 2012, racked up 163 saves with San Francisco from 2008-11, the most in the majors during that span. ... Major League Baseball informed union representatives on Tuesday that nine players, including Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez, will be suspended for their role in the Biogenesis clinic scandal, according to a report in the New York Daily News. Rodriguez's lawyer said his client plans to appeal.
