Astros 7, Angels 5: Matt Dominguez hit a tiebreaking three-run homer as part of a four-hit day as visiting Houston defeated Los Angeles.

L.J. Hoes added three hits, including his first major-league homer, as the Astros won for the sixth time in their last seven games at Angel Stadium. Jake Elmore also had two hits and Houston finished with 12 overall while improving to 4-2 on a nine-game road trip.

Astros starter Brett Oberholtzer (3-1) allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings. Kevin Chapman entered with two on and one out in the ninth and induced Peter Bourjos to hit into a game-ending double play for his first major-league save.

Hoes hit a solo shot in the first and Houston’s lead reached 3-0 on an RBI double by Robbie Grossman in the second. The Angels scored single runs in three straight innings on Chris Nelson’s sacrifice fly, Mark Trumbo’s single and Josh Hamilton’s homer to center for a 3-3 tie through four innings.

Hoes singled in the seventh and Carlos Corporan walked prior to Dominguez slamming a first-pitch curveball well into the left-field stands off J.C. Gutierrez (0-4). Jose Altuve added a sacrifice fly in the eighth before Trumbo belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning off Jordan Lyles to pull the Angels within two.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Angels OF Mike Trout departed after five innings with hamstring tightness. Trout went 2-for-3 to extend his consecutive games streak of reaching base to 40 games. … Houston SS Jonathan Villar (left thumb) was held out of the lineup. … Angels starter Jason Vargas gave up three runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
