Recap

Brewers 2, Braves 0: Aramis Ramirez had an RBI single among his three hits and five pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout as host Milwaukee blanked Atlanta for the second straight day.

Rookie Donovan Hand went 4 2/3 scoreless innings in his first major-league start and four relievers combined to give up two hits over 4 1/3 innings as the Brewers beat the Braves for the eighth consecutive time at home and handed them their fifth loss in six games overall.

Burke Badenhop (1-3) earned the win with 1 1/3 innings and John Axford pitched the eighth for his 19th consecutive scoreless outing before Francisco Rodriguez notched his 300th career save as Milwaukee extended its home winning streak to five games and sent Atlanta to a season-high fifth straight road defeat.

B.J. Upton had a pair of hits for the Braves, who have failed to score in their last 24 innings. Starter Tim Hudson (4-7) permitted two runs in six innings to stretch his winless streak to a career-high nine starts. Hudson is 0-6 during that span despite yielding only 10 runs in his last five outings.

Juan Francisco broke a scoreless deadlock with an RBI single in the fourth and Ramirez doubled the advantage with a run-scoring single in the sixth for Milwaukee, which has outscored Atlanta 31-9 during the eight-game streak at Miller Park.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ramirez went 3-for-4 to move within one hit of 2,000 for his career while Brewers LF Caleb Gindl had a pinch-hit single in the sixth inning for his first major-league hit. ... Braves RHP Brandon Beachy, who is on the mend from Tommy John surgery and was shut down last week, is expected to throw a bullpen session before the end of the current five-game road trip. ... Brewers RHP Marco Estrada (hamstring), who has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 5, will make a rehab start Sunday at Single-A Wisconsin.
