Recap
Rockies 7, Astros 6: Dexter Fowler drilled an RBI triple down the first-base line with one out in the 10th inning to give host Colorado a doubleheader sweep.
The fourth hit of the game - and seventh of the day - by Fowler, who recorded three RBIs, drove home Michael Cuddyer from first base to hand Houston its fourth straight loss.
After hitting a one-out single off Brett Myers (0-2), Cuddyer narrowly beat the relay throw home.
Colorado won the first game 9-7 on a two-run single by Jordan Pacheco in the bottom of the eighth.
Fowler got the Rockies started with a homer in the first inning of the nightcap. Houston’s Brian Bogusevic hit a two-run shot in the third and the Astros tallied twice in the fourth on Chris Snyder’s blast and Jordan Schafer’s RBI single to take a 4-2 advantage.
The Rockies scored four times in the bottom of the fourth as Fowler drew a bases-loaded walk and Marco Scutaro followed with a three-run double to right-center field.
Snyder had a run-scoring single in the fifth and Houston tied the contest at 6 in the sixth on a solo homer to left by pinch hitter Justin Maxwell.
Colorado’s Josh Roenicke (1-0) worked out of a jam in the top of the 10th to notch his first win since 2010 while with Toronto.
Houston starter Jordan Lyles gave up six runs - four earned - and six hits in five innings. Colorado’s Alex White allowed six runs and 10 hits in five frames.
