Recap
Dodgers 3, Rockies 0: Matt Kemp homered twice and Joe Blanton tossed six shutout innings as host Los Angeles kept its postseason hopes alive.
Blanton (10-13) scattered seven hits and Brandon League worked a perfect ninth for his sixth save for the Dodgers, who moved two games behind St. Louis for the second wild-card spot with four to play.
Kemp blasted a solo home run to left field in the first inning and led off the eighth with a shot to right field off Josh Roenicke. Kemp is 9-for-17 with eight RBIs in his last four games.
The heart of the Dodgers' order – Kemp, Adrian Gonzalez and Hanley Ramirez – went a combined 8-for-12 with three runs scored. Los Angeles has won four in a row for the first time since Aug. 12-15.
The Rockies' scoreless streak stands at 23 innings after being shut out in each of the first two games of the series. Colorado used seven pitchers, with starter Tyler Chatwood (5-6) giving up two runs over four frames.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Gonzalez went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. … Los Angeles SS Luis Cruz left the game with a headache. … Rockies OF Tyler Colvin was scratched from the starting lineup with soreness in his left elbow.
