Dodgers 10, Rockies 8: Hanley Ramirez’s homer capped a six-run third inning and A.J. Ellis belted his first career grand slam as visiting Los Angeles salvaged the finale of the three-game series.

Joe Blanton (9-12) allowed three runs over 7 1/3 innings to win for the first time in five starts since being acquired from Philadelphia. Los Angeles snapped a three-game losing streak and moved three games behind National League West-leading San Francisco, which plays Wednesday evening.

Trailing 10-1 in the eighth, Colorado sent 10 batters to the plate and scored seven runs before Jordan Pacheco grounded out with a runner at second to end the inning. Ronald Belisario worked around a one-out single in the ninth for his first save.
After being outscored 18-4 in the first two games, the Dodgers took their first lead of the series in the third inning when they sent nine batters to the plate against Drew Pomeranz (1-8).

Juan Rivera and Mark Ellis opened the third with singles and came around to score before Adrian Gonzalez drove in two runs with a one-out single. Ramirez followed with his 22nd homer, a blast to center field that gave Los Angeles a 6-0 lead.

A.J. Ellis extended the Dodgers’ lead in the eighth with a grand slam off Will Harris for his career-high 11th home run.

Colorado, which lost to Los Angeles for just the third time in its last 11 games, fell despite outhitting the Dodgers 15-12.

The Dodgers played without Matt Kemp, who was rested after crashing into the center-field fence on Tuesday. Kemp has a sore knee and jaw, but hopes to return Thursday when Los Angeles opens a four-game series against Arizona.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Dodgers’ six-run third inning tied the team’s largest inning of the year. …Colorado OF Dexter Fowler was out of the starting lineup for the seventh straight game due to an ankle injury, but he entered the game in the seventh. …Pomeranz allowed six runs (five earned) over four innings and fell to 0-5 over his last nine starts. …The Dodgers placed LHP Scott Elbert on the 15-day disabled list (left elbow soreness) and recalled RHP Shawn Tolleson from High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
