Recap

Rockies 3, Dodgers 1:
Rookie Josh Rutledge had a career-high four hits and drove in three runs as visiting Colorado beat Los Angeles for the second straight game.

Eric Young Jr. added three hits and reached base four times for Colorado, which won back-to-back contests in a series for the first time since sweeping Houston in four games on May 28-31.

The Dodgers, who were shut out 2-0 in the series opener, tallied just four hits and fell 1 1/2 games behind National League West-leading San Francisco, which beat St. Louis 4-2.

For the second straight game, Young helped spark the Rockies' offense. The speedster singled with one out in the fifth and scored on Rutledge’s double to center field off Aaron Harang (7-7), who lost consecutive starts for the first time this season.

Chris Nelson singled and Young walked to open the top of the seventh before Harang was replaced by Shawn Tolleson, who promptly allowed a two-run double to Rutledge.

Rockies starter Alex White gave up one hit with five walks over four innings, and Josh Roenicke (4-0) followed with three scoreless innings.

The Dodgers broke a 16-inning scoreless streak in the eighth when Hanley Ramirez singled with two outs and scored on Mark Ellis’ double down the third base line off Matt Belisle.

Rafael Betancourt worked a perfect ninth inning for his 19th save and second in as many games.
