Recap
Rangers 4, Rockies 1: Roy Oswalt made a triumphant return to the mound, allowing one run in 6 2/3 innings to win his American League debut for host Texas.
Adrian Beltre belted a two-run homer and Mike Napoli added a solo blast to power the Rangers to their seventh consecutive victory.
Oswalt (1-0), making his first appearance since the 2011 National League Division Series as a member of Philadelphia, blanked the Rockies until Dexter Fowler tripled with two outs in the seventh and scored on Marco Scutaro's double.
The 34-year-old right-hander, who was signed by Texas on May 29, gave up nine hits and left to a standing ovation as he improved to 9-2 lifetime against Colorado and 160-93 in his career. Joe Nathan earned his 15th save with a perfect ninth.
Beltre staked Oswalt to a 2-0 first-inning lead with his 13th homer off Christian Friedrich (4-4). He later singled and has three homers, 10 RBIs and six multi-hit performances in his last eight games.
The Rangers padded the lead in the fourth on Nelson Cruz's RBI double and Napoli's 12th homer to make it 4-0 as they improved to a major league-best 13-3 in interleague play.
Rookie catcher Wilin Rosario went 3-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to six games for the Rockies, who fell to 2-13 in their last 15 contests.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas placed 1B Mitch Moreland on the 15-day disabled list. Moreland injured his hamstring in Tuesday's game. The Rangers also designated pitcher Mark Hamburger for assignment to open a roster spot for Oswalt. ... Rockies LF Carlos Gonzalez saved a run in the second inning, gunning down Yorvit Torrealba at the plate. Torrealba was attempting to score from second on a single by Craig Gentry. ... Oswalt entered the game with a 1.94 ERA in 12 starts against the Rockies. ... Colorado activated SS Jonathan Herrera from the disabled list and optioned DJ LeMahieu to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
