Recap

Diamondbacks 11, Rangers 3: Lyle Overbay had three hits and three RBIs, and Jason Kubel and Gerardo Parra blasted homers as Arizona salvaged the finale of a three-game series at AL West-leader Texas.

Kubel belted a two-run shot in the second inning off Texas starter Scott Feldman (0-6). Parra delivered the big blow in a five-run sixth, connecting for a three-run homer.

Arizona starter Daniel Hudson (3-1) went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Texas took a 1-0 lead on Adrian Beltre’s single in the bottom of the first, but Kubel answered in the second with his seventh homer of the season. Overbay doubled home two runs in the third to push Arizona’s advantage to 4-1.

In the sixth, Overbay plated Miguel Montero with a double to right field and scored on Aaron Hill's single to center off reliever Tanner Scheppers. Two batters later, Parra hit a 2-2 pitch over the right-field wall for his fifth homer of the season.

Feldman pitched to two batters in the sixth, allowing eight hits and six runs (four earned). He struck out six without a walk.

David Murphy hit his seventh homer for Texas, a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh. Montero added a two-run blast in the ninth for Arizona.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The loss trimmed the Rangers' lead over Los Angeles in the AL West to three games. ... Texas' injury-ravaged pitching staff suffered another blow Thursday when the club put reliever Koji Uehara on the disabled list with a strained right lat muscle. Right-hander Justin Grimm will be promoted from Double-A Frisco and start Saturday.
