Mariners 6, Rangers 1: Felix Hernandez threw eight strong innings and host Seattle sent Yu Darvish to the shortest outing of his brief career.

Hernandez (4-3) allowed only one run on six hits in eight dominant innings to lift the Mariners to their fourth consecutive victory and deny Darvish in his bid to become the majors' first seven-game winner.

Ichiro Suzuki had two hits and two RBIs and Jesus Montero drove in a pair of runs for Seattle, which lost to Darvish in his major league debut.

Darvish (6-2) lasted only four innings, allowing five runs on only four hits and surrendering a career-high six walks to go with five strikeouts. He threw 97 pitches, 56 for strikes.

Hernandez, who lost four times to the Rangers last year, allowed only a home run by Mitch Moreland in the eighth inning.

Ichiro, who went 3-for-4 against Darvish last month, tripled home a run in the first inning and singled in a run in a three-run third that was aided by a throwing error by Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton.

Dustin Ackley added an RBI single in the fourth off Darvish, who escaped further damage by wriggling out of a no-out, bases-loaded jam.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rangers placed right-hander Neftali Feliz on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament. Feliz, who was converted to a starter after spending the past two seasons as a closer, will not throw for at least a month. Yoshinori Tateyama was recalled from from Triple-A Round Rock to take his spot on the roster. ... Rangers 2B Ian Kinsler had a pair of hits for his fourth multi-hit game in the last seven. ... Hernandez snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 11-16 against Texas.
