Recap

Athletics 4, Rangers 3: Coco Crisp had two hits, scored twice and drove in the go-ahead run as host Oakland clinched its first playoff berth since 2006 and moved within a game of Texas atop the American League West.

Jarrod Parker (13-8) won his fourth straight decision and beat the Rangers for the second time in six days, allowing three runs on six hits in six-plus innings as the Athletics moved into a tie with Baltimore for the wild card lead. Grant Balfour earned his 23rd save following perfect innings by Sean Doolittle and Ryan Cook.

Josh Reddick had an RBI single and Brandon Moss plated a run with a sacrifice fly as Oakland eliminated Tampa Bay and Los Angeles from postseason contention and dropped the Rangers into a tie with the New York Yankees for the best record in the AL.

Martin Perez (1-4) lost his third straight start and second in a row to Oakland, giving up four runs on six hits in four-plus innings. He exited after back-to-back doubles by Adam Rosales and Crisp, who scored on Moss' sacrifice fly for a 4-2 lead.

Michael Young and Mike Napoli swatted solo homers for the Rangers, who need one win in the final two games of the series to clinch their third consecutive AL West title.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre was back in the lineup at designated hitter after leaving the first game of Sunday's doubleheader when he aggravated a left shoulder strain. ... Crisp is 9-for-17 with three doubles and seven runs scored in his last four games. ... Rangers reliever Koji Uehara had retired 25 straight batters before Moss' two-out single in the seventh inning.
