Recap

Athletics 8, Rockies 2: Jarrod Parker allowed three hits in seven scoreless innings and visiting Oakland finished off a three-game sweep while sending Colorado to its eighth consecutive defeat.

Brandon Moss homered and doubled twice, finishing with three RBIs as the Athletics dropped the spiraling Rockies to 0-9 in interleague play.

Josh Reddick belted his team-high 15th homer and also had three hits for Oakland, which piled up 26 runs in the three games after entering the series as the lowest-scoring team in the American League.

Parker (3-3) struck out six and walked one in bouncing back from a rocky start last time out. He has not allowed a run in three of his last four outings.

Alex White (2-5) lasted only four innings, giving up four runs — two earned — on seven hits and four walks as the Rockies became the first National League team since the Florida Marlins in July 2005 to allow at least six runs in eight straight games.

Moss made it 4-0 with a two-run triple in the third and hit his fourth homer of the series in a three-run ninth. Coco Crisp and Kurt Suzuki also had three hits each for Oakland.

Marco Scutaro homered in the bottom of the ninth to break up the shutout and extend his hitting streak to six games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Moss has eight hits this season and seven have gone for extra bases — five homers, a double and a triple. He finished with eight RBIs in the series. ... Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki will undergo a precautionary MRI exam after aggravating a groin injury in his first rehab game Wednesday at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Tulowitzki has been on the disabled list since May 31. ... Oakland LF Yoenis Cespedes sat out for the fifth time in six games. He came out of Wednesday's game due to tightness in his hamstring. ... Athletics RHP Brandon McCarthy (shoulder) played catch Thursday. He's expected to miss Saturday's scheduled start.
