Recap

Mariners 7, Angels 4:
Dustin Ackley and John Jaso had two RBIs apiece and Hisashi Iwakuma pitched seven solid innings as visiting Seattle ended a five-game losing skid.

Jaso homered for the second consecutive game as the Mariners jumped out to a seven-run lead against Dan Haren while handing Los Angeles its seventh loss in 10 games.

Iwakuma (3-3) allowed only four hits over the first seven innings before tiring in the eighth and leaving after giving up a two-run homer to Vernon Wells. He gave up three runs and six hits while winning for only the second time in seven starts.

Seattle scored three times in the second on a single by Trayvon Robinson and Ackley’s two-run single.

Jaso homered in the third to make it 4-0 and also had a run-scoring single in a three-run fourth.

Wells had three hits and drove in three runs, the first coming on a fifth-inning single, and Kendrys Morales homered in the ninth for Los Angeles, which fell 1 1/2 games off the pace in the American League wild card race.

Haren (8-9) allowed seven runs (five earned) and five hits in 3 1/3 innings. He fell to 11-6 in his career against Seattle.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seattle is 2-6 on a nine-game road trip that concludes Sunday. … Angels CF Mike Trout robbed Mariners C Miguel Olivo of a homer in the eighth with a leaping catch above the center-field fence. … Mariners closer Tom Wilhelmsen was back with the club after missing Friday’s contest for the birth of his daughter and pitched the ninth in a non-save situation. … Los Angeles OF Mark Trumbo is batting only .140 over his last 11 games and didn’t play Saturday.
