Recap

Angels 3, Athletics 1 (11)
: Alberto Callaspo laced a two-run double to left field in the top of the 11th to lift visiting Los Angeles to a series win over Oakland.

The Athletics went to Jordan Norberto (0-1) against the heart of the Angels lineup in the 11th. The left-hander retired Albert Pujols but issued a walk to Kendrys Morales. After Mark Trumbo flied out, Howie Kendrick singled to center to move pinch runner Peter Bourjos to third.

Callaspo came up next and battled to eight pitches before sending it down the left-field line to score two.

Jordan Walden (1-1) picked up the win in relief and Ernesto Frieri struck out the side in the bottom of the 11th for his first career save.

Jarrod Parker started for Oakland and struck out eight in seven innings while allowing one run on five hits and a walk. The 23-year old has allowed two runs or fewer in five of his six starts since being recalled from the minors.

Los Angeles starter Jered Weaver was even better, allowing one run on three hits in eight innings while striking out four and walking two.

The Angels took a 1-0 lead in the third when Callaspo led off with a walk, moved up on a single and scored on Maicer Izturis’ two-out single to left.

Oakland got that run back in the sixth when Seth Smith broke up a string of seven straight retired by Weaver by taking an 0-1 changeup over the fence in center for his fourth home run.
