Cardinals 9, Rockies 6: Matt Holliday homered twice and drove in five runs as visiting St. Louis sent Colorado to its seventh consecutive loss.

Holliday continued to torment his former team, swatting a two-run homer in the first inning and a go-ahead, three-run blast in the seventh to lift the Cardinals to their sixth win in eight games. Holliday is 13-for-24 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in six games against the Rockies this year

Jake Westbrook (10-8) was the beneficiary of the onslaught, winning his third straight start and improving to 4-0 lifetime against Colorado despite allowing five runs on nine hits in six innings.

Yadier Molina had three hits, drove in a run and scored twice for St. Louis, which will go for a three-game sweep in Thursday's series finale.

Josh Rutledge homered for the third straight game and Ramon Hernandez and Tyler Colvin each had three hits for Colorado, which dropped to 0-5 on its nine-game homestand.

Rockies right-hander Drew Pomeranz allowed three runs on five hits in four innings. Matt Belisle (3-3) took the loss in relief.

Colorado's offense came alive against Westbrook in the sixth, banging out five extra-base hits and scoring four times for a 5-3 lead. Colvin had an RBI triple and Jordan Pacheco, Hernandez and Eric Young added run-scoring doubles.

The lead was short-lived as Holliday greeted reliever Belisle with a towering three-run blast to left to put St. Louis back on top 6-5.
