Recap
Cardinals 3, Dodgers 2 (12): Rafael Furcal drove an opposite-field RBI single for a walk-off win as host St. Louis beat Los Angeles for the second straight night.
Pinch hitter Lance Berkman drew a one-out walk in the 12th off Jamey Wright (4-3), and pitcher Joe Kelly came in to run for him. With two outs, Matt Carpenter singled, setting the stage for Furcal's heroics.
Fernando Salas (1-3) earned the win with two scoreless innings.
Newly acquired Hanley Ramirez tripled off the center-field wall in his first Dodgers’ at-bat and scored on James Loney’s sacrifice fly. Ramirez finished 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored.
Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse allowed two runs in seven innings, scattering seven hits. He hit a fifth-inning sacrifice fly to put St. Louis up 2-1, but Ramirez tied it with an RBI single in the sixth.
The Cardinals loaded the bases with one out in the eighth, but Matt Holliday lined into a double play.
Aaron Harang went 7 1/3 innings for Los Angeles, allowing two runs on just two hits while fanning eight. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly was ejected in the 10th for arguing balls and strikes.
St. Louis had lost eight straight against the Dodgers until these two wins.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Berkman did not start due to a bruised right knee, but walked as a pinch-hitter in the 12th. … Dodgers INF Adam Kennedy was placed on the 15-day DL with a strained right groin. … Ramirez started at third but is expected to play shortstop on a regular basis once he gets more comfortable at his old position. … Lohse has not allowed more than two runs in his last seven starts.
