Recap

Astros 2, Padres 0:
J.A. Happ gave up four hits over six-plus innings and visiting Houston blanked San Diego to end its 13-game road losing streak.

Happ (7-9) was pulled after giving up a double and a walk with one out in the seventh, but Fernando Rodriguez worked out of a bases-loaded jam to end the Padres’ threat.

Brett Myers pitched around one baserunner in the ninth inning for his 19th save. Happ walked one over 6 1/3 innings in his first road win this season.

The Padres scored a combined 14 runs in back-to-back victories against the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend, but managed only six hits on Monday.

Houston won for only the second time in its last 15 contests and came within one game of setting the longest single-season road losing streak in franchise history.

Padres starter Kip Wells (1-3) gave up two runs with five walks over 4 1/3 innings. Four San Diego relievers combined to throw 4 2/3 scoreless innings.

The Astros won despite going 0-for-4 with the bases loaded. Scott Moore delivered both Houston runs on sacrifice flies in the first and third innings.

Alexi Amarista went 2-for-4 with a stolen base for the Padres, who lost at home to Houston for the second time in the last eight matchups.
