Recap

Angels 4, Twins 0: Jerome Williams pitched his first shutout since 2003 and Torii Hunter stayed hot with a home run and two RBIs as host Los Angeles secured back-to-back wins for the second time this season.

Howie Kendrick went 3-for-3 to finish a double shy of the cycle and Albert Pujols picked up his fifth RBI on a groundout for the Angels.

Williams (2-1), who recorded his first career shutout on June 27, 2003 and has not had a major league complete game since that same campaign, struck out the side in the ninth and finished with six strikeouts. He walked one and allowed three hits.

Francisco Liriano (0-4) had his last turn skipped to work out some mechanical flaws but had a tough time early on Tuesday. The left-hander got a 1-0 pitch up in the zone to Hunter leading off the second and the veteran slugger deposited his fourth homer over the wall in left-center.

Kendrick followed two batters later and sent a 1-0 inside fastball out for his third blast.

Los Angeles extended its lead in the third, getting two more when Pujols grounded out with Chris Iannetta on third and Hunter followed with an RBI single through the left side.

Pujols finished 0-for-4, dropping his average to .208.

Liriano was charged with four runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pujols extended his homerless streak to 96 at-bats. … Minnesota DH Justin Morneau had an MRI on his left wrist reveal no structural damage. He is day-to-day and is set to rejoin the team on Wednesday. … Hunter has hit all four of his home runs in the last five games and has driven in five runs in the first two games of the series.
