Royals 4, Brewers 3: Pinch hitter Brayan Pena hit a two-out, game-tying single in the bottom of the ninth inning and Jarrod Dyson scored the winning run on a bad throw from the outfield as Kansas City completed its first home sweep of the season.
Eric Hosmer belted a two-run homer for the Royals, who scored the winning run after the seventh inning in each game of the series.
With two outs and runners on first and second, Pena hit a single near the left-field line that plated Mitch Maier, who reached on a wild pitch after striking out. As left fielder Norichika Aoki threw the ball in to second base, Jarrod Dyson never stopped running and crossed the plate after second baseman Rickie Weeks failed to field the throw cleanly.
Tim Collins (4-0) recorded his second win in as many days after tossing a scoreless top of the ninth. Collins also picked up the victory in Wednesday's 11-inning triumph.
Milwaukee closer John Axford (1-3) blew his second save opportunity in as many games, allowing two runs and a hit while recording two outs.
Ryan Braun extended his interleague hitting streak to 19 games with a solo homer in the fourth that gave the Brewers the lead. Hosmer put the Royals ahead in the sixth with his eighth shot, but Aramis Ramirez hit a solo blast in the seventh and pinch hitter Cody Ransom delivered an RBI single in the eighth for a 3-2 Milwaukee advantage.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas City RF Jeff Francoeur and manager Ned Yost were ejected Thursday. Francoeur was tossed by home plate umpire Dan Iassogna in the second inning for arguing a called third strike, while Yost was thrown out in the fourth for arguing with Iassogna about a call on a bunt play. ... Milwaukee has won only two of its last 12 interleague games.
