Recap
White Sox 5, Mariners 4: Tyler Flowers homered and Dewayne Wise singled home the go-ahead run in a two-run sixth to lift host Chicago to its fifth consecutive win.
Paul Konerko, Alex Rios and Wise each had two hits and an RBI as the White Sox maintained their 2 1/2-game lead over Detroit atop the American League Central.
Nate Jones (6-0) faced one batter in relief of starter Carlos Quintana for the win to help Chicago beat Seattle for the seventh time in eight meetings this season and improve to 23-4 against Seattle since the beginning of the 2010 season.
Relievers Matt Thornton and Brett Myers bridged the gap to closer Addison Reed, who surrendered a homer before securing his 24th save.
Blake Beavan (8-8) lasted five-plus innings, giving up four runs on seven hits for the Mariners, who have lost two straight following an eight-game winning streak and fell to 3-18 in their last 21 games at U.S. Cellular Field.
Kyle Seager homered twice for Seattle, including a three-run blast in the first inning off Quintana, who allowed three runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings and left after throwing 112 pitches.
Chicago chipped away with RBI singles by Konerko in the first and Rios in the third before Flowers tied it with a solo shot in the sixth, his third homer in his last five games.
Ramirez followed Flowers' homer with a double, ending Beavan's night, and scored the go-ahead run on Wise's two-out single off Charlie Furbush. Ramirez's sacrifice fly in the eighth made it 5-3.
GAME NOTEBOOK: A.J. Pierzynski and White Sox manager Robin Ventura were ejected in top of third inning after Pierzynski questioned a ball call. It was the third ejection of the year for first-year manager Ventura. ... Seager's first-inning blast ended a 13-game homerless streak. He had only one RBI in that span. ... White Sox LF Dayan Viciedo was a late scratch from the lineup due to soreness in his right shoulder. He was replaced by Jordan Danks. ... The Mariners have hit a homer in eight straight games and have 112 for the season, three more than last year.
