Recap

White Sox 5, Rangers 2:
Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko hit two-run homers, lifting Chicago to victory at Texas for the eighth time in its last 10 tries.

Later Saturday, the White Sox acquired left-hander Francisco Liriano from Minnesota in exchange for shortstop Eduardo Escobar and minor league left-hander Pedro Hernandez. Liriano, who is expected to join the rotation, threw a no-hitter against the White Sox in 2011.

Konerko gave the White Sox all the offense they would need in the fourth inning when he followed a one-out infield single by Dunn with a blast to left field off Matt Harrison (12-6). Dunn added a two-run shot an inning later, his major league-leading 31st of the year, to give the visitors a 5-0 advantage.

That was more than enough help for Philip Humber (5-5), who scattered just four hits over six-plus innings. He departed after putting runners on the corners to open the seventh, but reliever Jesse Crain extinguished the final Texas threat of the night by retiring the next three hitters.

Escobar had an RBI double in the fifth inning in his final game with Chicago, which won its fifth straight and stretched its lead over Detroit in the American League Central to 2 1/2 games.

Mike Napoli drove in both of the Rangers' runs, getting them on the board with a solo home run in the fifth inning and tacking on an RBI groundout in the ninth.

Humber finished with four strikeouts and two walks. Harrison gave up five runs on seven hits in seven innings, walking three and striking out four.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Humber has allowed two runs in 11 1/3 career innings against the Rangers. ... The White Sox have won Humber’s last five starts against American League West teams. ... Escobar had two doubles, matching his previous career total. Three of his four major league doubles have come against Texas.  ... Harrison had not allowed more than four runs in a game since May 2, when he surrendered eight in a loss to Toronto.
