Tigers 6, White Sox 4:
Miguel Cabrera’s two home runs paced an early long-ball barrage as host Detroit capped off a sweep of Chicago to remain atop the American League Central.

The Tigers, who had taken a half-game lead over Chicago on Saturday, pulled ahead in the bottom of the first inning Sunday when Quintin Berry hit a two-run homer off Philip Humber (4-5). Cabrera followed with the first of his two solo shots to center field, making it a 3-1 game.

Cabrera’s second homer, the 300th of his career, came with one out in the third inning. Brennan Boesch added a two-run blast later in the frame to stretch Detroit's lead to five.

Jacob Turner (1-1) went 5 1/3 innings to pick up his first major-league victory. Turner allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out three.

Three Detroit relievers combined to hold the lead for Joaquin Benoit, who worked a perfect ninth for his second save of the season. Octavio Dotel struck out four of the five hitters he faced in the seventh and eighth innings.

Alex Rios, who got the White Sox on the board with an RBI single in the first inning, hit a two-run homer in the sixth that originally was ruled a double before replay determined otherwise. Kevin Youkilis added a solo shot in the seventh.

Humber lasted just three innings in defeat, yielding six runs on seven hits.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cabrera became the 11th-youngest player in history to reach 300 career home runs. ... The White Sox finished their 10-game road trip with a 3-7 record, dropping six of their last seven. ... C A.J. Pierzynski and LF Dayan Viciedo were both out of the Chicago lineup on Sunday.
