Angels 7, White Sox 2: Albert Pujols hit a three run-homer – his second of the season and first extra-base hit in nine games – and Jerome Williams pitched eight solid innings to lift host Los Angeles.

Vernon Wells added a two-run homer and Alberto Callaspo and Mark Trumbo had three hits apiece for the Angels. Pujols went 1-for-4 to raise his average to .215.

Williams (4-1) allowed two runs and scattered 10 hits to improve to 4-0 in his last five starts and 4-0 at home.

Gavin Floyd (3-4) fell to 0-3 on the road after yielding seven runs and 10 hits in six innings as Chicago lost for the fourth time in five games.

Los Angeles opened the scoring in the second inning when Erick Aybar snapped a 0-for-16 slump with an RBI double.

The White Sox scored twice in the third on Dayan Viciedo’s fifth home run and Gordon Beckham’s run-scoring double before the Angels took control.

Pujols drove a 0-1 fastball over the center field fence with Mike Trout and Callaspo aboard in the third. Pujols, who had three infield singles Tuesday, has at least two RBIs in five of his last 10 games and is 9-for-29 since his average reached a season-low .190 on May 8.

Howard Kendrick’s sacrifice fly in the sixth inning made it 5-2 before Wells followed with a two-run homer to left – his sixth.
