Recap

Rockies 5, Nationals 1: Red-hot Tyler Colvin hit two home runs as visiting Colorado snapped Washington's four-game winning streak and defeated Stephen Strasburg for the second time this season.

Colorado’s Drew Pomeranz (1-3) allowed one hit, walked two and struck out six among his 81 pitches in 6 1/3 shutout innings to win for the first time since his final outing of 2011.

Dexter Fowler hit a solo shot in the seventh inning and Michael Cuddyer added a sacrifice fly in the eighth as the Rockies improved to 11-3 at Washington since the start of 2008.

Ryan Zimmerman homered in the ninth inning, and Bryce Harper singled and walked for the Nationals, who had a five-game home winning snapped.

Colvin, who had three homers and seven RBIs in a four-game series at St. Louis, was 3-for-4 and flew out to the warning track Friday.

Colvin hit a solo homer in the second inning - ruled an unearned run because Washington catcher Jesus Flores dropped his foul pop two pitches earlier - and added a two-run shot in the fourth to give him five home runs over his last five games.

Strasburg (9-4), who was lifted after three innings in his last start Saturday in Atlanta because of dehydration, has lost three straight games for the first time in his career. He allowed three runs (two earned), eight hits and struck out six in six innings.

Rafael Betancourt recorded three outs in the ninth to earn his 14th save in 18 chances after Rex Brothers yielded Zimmerman's homer, a double to Michael Morse and a single to Adam LaRoche to start the inning.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington, which finished with five hits, had recorded nine or more in nine straight games, which was the longest active streak in the majors. The Nationals averaged 8.3 runs and were 7-2 during that span. ... Pomeranz, who broke three Nationals bats after breaking 10 against the Padres in his previous start, has allowed one unearned run and three hits in two outings (12 1/3 innings) since being recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday. ... Colvin is 29-for-78 (.372) with 10 homers, 27 RBIs and 15 runs scored since June 9. He has 40 RBIs in 180 at-bats this season. ... The Rockies won for the second time in their last seven games.
