Recap

Rockies 6, Mets 2: Jhoulys Chacin pitched six solid innings to earn the victory in his first start since May 1 as Colorado won its second straight at New York despite not putting a runner on until the sixth.

Dexter Fowler had two hits and two RBIs and Charlie Blackmon had two hits and scored twice for the Rockies, who won for the seventh time in their last nine games.

Chacin (1-3), who was activated off the disabled list after recovering from nerve damage in his right pectoral muscle, yielded one run, four hits and struck out two.

Mets starter Chris Young (3-7) was perfect for five innings before Colorado pushed across four runs in the sixth. Young, who is 0-4 at Citi Field this season, allowed four runs (two earned), five hits and struck out a season-high nine in seven innings as New York has lost four of its last five games and eight of 11.

DJ LeMahieu led off the sixth with an infield hit and Jonathan Herrera's single put runners at first and third. Young fielded Chacin's sacrifice bunt and threw wildly to first, allowing LeMahieu to score. Herrera came home on Blackmon's infield hit and Fowler knocked in Chacin with a line-drive single to right. Ramon Hernandez capped the inning with a sacrifice fly to plate Blackmon.

The Mets threatened to cut the lead in half in the sixth, but left fielder Andrew Brown cut down Ruben Tejada at the plate with a perfect one-hop throw on David Wright's single to end the inning.

New York made it 4-2 in the seventh, though, when Jordany Valdespin doubled with one out, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Andres Torres' sacrifice fly.

Fowler restored the Rockies' three-run lead with a single through a drawn-in infield in the eighth to score Blackmon, who led off with a double.

GAME NOTEBOOK: To make room for Chacin, the Rockies placed OF Eric Young Jr. on the 15-day disabled list with a left rib cage strain. Young was hitting .406 in August... Colorado All-Star LF Carlos Gonzalez missed his fourth straight game because of the death of his grandfather in Venezuela and is expected to rejoin the lineup Wednesday. ... Mets manager Terry Collins was ejected in the fifth inning after the umpires got together and reversed a call, ruling Rockies 3B Jordan Pacheco tagged out Torres during a rundown. ... The game snapped a string of seven straight games decided by two runs or less for the Rockies, who were 5-2 during that span. ... Colorado's bullpen had its 18-inning scoreless inning streak snapped.
