Dodgers 8, Mets 5:
Juan Uribe homered and drove in four and Matt Kemp tripled in a run as visiting Los Angeles picked up its third straight victory.

Luis Cruz, Matt Treanor and James Loney each added an RBI in support of Chris Capuano, who struck out nine in seven solid innings to beat his old team and earn a team-high 10th win for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles struck early against New York starter Miguel Batista (1-3), pushing one run across in the first when Loney singled in Kemp. The Dodgers padded the lead with three runs in the third - with Uribe doubling in a pair.

Uribe put the game away in the top of the ninth against knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who was making his first relief appearance of the season. Dickey got two quick outs before surrendering a single to Loney. Uribe followed and blasted a knuckler on a line over the left field wall for a two-run homer.

Uribe entered the contest batting .186 with one extra-base hit in his last 17 games.

Capuano (10-5), who pitched for the Mets last season, allowed three runs on eight hits while walking one. Ronald Belisario allowed two runs in the eighth and Kenley Jansen worked around two walks in the ninth to earn his 18th save.

Batista lasted only three innings in the spot start, allowing four runs and five hits while walking three and striking out a pair.

David Murphy recorded a pinch-hit RBI triple and Jason Bay singled in a run for the Mets, who have dropped seven of eight since the All-Star break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York placed LHP Johan Santana on the disabled list with an ankle injury. The two-time Cy Young Award winner has posted an 0-3 record with a 13.50 ERA over his last three starts. RHP Jeremy Hefner was recalled to take Santana’s roster spot. … Dodgers C A.J. Ellis (knee) had an MRI come back negative on Saturday. He expects to start Sunday after missing the last two games. … Los Angeles is in the market for Cubs RHP Ryan Dempster but is reportedly unwilling to include top prospect Zack Lee in the deal.
