Recap

Mets 5, Giants 4: Ruben Tejada drove in three runs and scored the game winner on an error in the bottom of the ninth as host New York edged San Francisco to snap a three-game losing streak.

After Lucas Duda led off with a single against Clay Hensley (1-1), Tejada walked and Justin Turner reached on a one-out infield hit to load the bases. Kirk Nieuwenhuis then grounded into a fielder’s choice, but Giants catcher Buster Posey committed an error after recording the second out, allowing Tejada to score the decisive run.

Jon Rauch (2-0) got the win despite allowing a game-tying two-run double to Brandon Belt with two out in the top of the ninth inning. Emmanuel Burriss started the Giants’ three-run ninth with an RBI single against Frank Francisco.

Tejada snapped a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning when he doubled to left field against San Francisco starter Ryan Vogelsong, scoring Jason Bay and Duda. Ike Davis gave the Mets a 4-1 lead with an RBI infield single in the eighth inning.
