Recap

Rockies 3, Marlins 2:
Jordan Pacheco homered as part of a three-run fourth inning and host Colorado salvaged a split of its four-game series against Miami.

Adam Ottavino (5-1) pitched three scoreless innings after starter Drew Pomeranz gave up two runs (one earned) over four frames. Rafael Betancourt worked around two hits in the ninth for his 23rd save in 28 opportunities.

Josh Johnson (7-10) was the hard-luck loser after throwing a season-high 119 pitches and allowing three runs on seven hits over seven innings.

The Marlins grabbed an early lead when Emilio Bonifacio scored on Carlos Lee’s grounder in the first, and they added another run on John Buck’s solo shot to center field in the fourth.

Johnson allowed just one baserunner in the first three innings, but he ran into trouble in the fourth. Dexter Fowler doubled in a run before Pacheco hit a two-out, two-run homer that cleared the left-field wall.

Pacheco’s blast was his second this season and first in 279 at-bats, dating to May 17 against Arizona. He’s batting .414 (12-for-29) with seven RBIs during his eight-game hitting streak.

Miami's Giancarlo Stanton went 0-for-2 with two intentional walks after becoming the first player in major league history to homer in his first six games at a visiting ballpark on Saturday.
