Stanton put the Marlins on the board with his 18th homer in the first inning and singled home a run in the third for a 2-1 lead.
Justin Ruggiano's sacrifice fly in the fifth made it 3-1, but Pence's 16th homer in the seventh cut the deficit to 3-2.
