Recap

Marlins 6, Pirates 2: Josh Johnson pitched seven strong innings for his first victory in 13 months as host Miami snapped Pittsburgh's three-game winning streak.

Omar Infante went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and Hanley Ramirez had a pair of RBI doubles among three hits to help Miami gain a split of the two-game series and improve to 11-3 in May.

Johnson (1-3) matched his longest outing of the season, allowing two runs on six hits to move to 3-0 lifetime against the Pirates. He struck out six in his first win since beating Pittsburgh on April 19, 2011.

John Buck and Infante each had two-run singles in a five-run fourth inning to chase Pirates starter Kevin Correia (1-4), who lost his fourth consecutive start. He gave up six runs on eight hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings.

Johnson, who missed most of last season with shoulder troubles, gave up an RBI single to Garrett Jones in the first inning and held Pittsburgh scoreless until Mike McKenry's two-out homer in the seventh.

It was the 28th quality start for Miami, tying the Philadelphia Phillies for most in the majors.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
