Marlins 5, Cubs 2: Hanley Ramirez snapped a 2-2 tie with a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth as host Miami won in manager Ozzie Guillen’s return to the dugout.

Guillen managed his first game following a five-game suspension for comments made about Cuban leader Fidel Castro. He saw Ramirez – who tied Sunday’s game with an eighth-inning homer before singling home the game-winning run in the 11th inning – come through in the late innings again.

Jose Reyes reached on Darwin Barney’s error to lead off the eighth. Chicago reliever and loser Rafael Dolis (0-1) walked Emilio Bonifacio before Ramirez blasted a 3-1 pitch over the wall in left-center.

Miami starter Josh Johnson, who gave up 21 hits in his first two starts, allowed seven hits and two runs in seven innings, striking out three. Steve Cishek (1-0) pitched a scoreless eighth for the victory. Heath Bell, who blew his first two save opportunities with Miami, earned his first save.

For the third start in a row, Chicago right-hander Ryan Dempster pitched well enough to win, but finished with a no-decision. Dempster gave up just four hits and two runs (none earned) in six innings, striking out eight and lowering his ERA to 1.33.

Chicago pushed across a run in the top of the fourth on Alfonso Soriano’s groundout to second, scoring Barney.

The Marlins moved ahead with two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth. Johnson reached on Dempster’s throwing error, scoring Gaby Sanchez, who led off the inning with a double to left. Bonifacio singled to right to score Johnson and give Miami a 2-1 advantage.

The Cubs tied the game at 2-2 in the seventh. Steve Clevenger doubled to left-center with one out, and scored on Bryan LaHair’s single to center.

Guillen dropped slumping right fielder Giancarlo Stanton to sixth in the lineup. Stanton went 1-for-3 and hitting .237. … Chicago sent home set-up man Kerry Wood to receive a cortisone shot in his right shoulder. Wood will miss the series. … The Marlins turned four double plays.
