Braves 2, Marlins 1: Brian McCann went 3-for-4 and Randall Delgado won his second consecutive start, powering Atlanta to its fifth victory in six games.
Delgado (4-5) struck out seven and allowed one run on just two hits in 6 1/3 innings for the Braves, who have taken the first two games of the three-game set at Marlins Park.
Atlanta jumped ahead 2-0 in the fourth off Miami starter Josh Johnson (3-4). Freddie Freeman’s single to right scored McCann. Freeman left the game in the bottom of the fourth with a bruised finger on his left hand, after being hit with a throw from Miami’s Jose Reyes while running the bases.
Delgado helped himself later in the inning, driving home Dan Uggla with a single to left as the Braves moved ahead 2-0.
Miami pulled within 2-1 in the fifth on Bryan Petersen’s RBI single, scoring Giancarlo Stanton.
Craig Kimbrel pitched the ninth for his NL-leading 17th save. One night after Tim Hudson threw a complete-game five-hit shutout, four Atlanta pitchers held Miami to two hits and one walk.
Johnson struck out nine in 7 2/3 innings, giving up six hits and two runs while walking three.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Reyes finished 0-for-4, ending his 15-game hitting streak. ... Atlanta improved to 7-11 against NL East opponents this season. … Both teams are 31-25 on the season.
