Braves 11, Marlins 0: Dan Uggla belted two homers and drove in five runs and Tim Hudson tossed a complete-game shutout as Atlanta won for the fourth time in five games.

Uggla hit a solo homer to left in the fourth, added a two-run single to cap Atlanta’s four-run seventh and blasted a two-run shot to deep left-center in the ninth for the 200th homer of his career. Uggla finished 4-for-5 with three runs scored.

Hudson (4-2) was splendid, recording his 13th career shutout as Atlanta dominated the series opener at Marlins Park. He allowed just five hits while walking three and striking out three.

Rookie shortstop Andrelton Simmons went 3-for-5 with three RBIs for the Braves in his third major-league game.

Miami starter Anibal Sanchez (3-4) was victimized for eight hits and seven runs in 6 2/3 innings.

Ahead 3-0 entering the seventh, the Braves broke open the game with four runs. Simmons tripled home Jason Heyward and scored on Hudson's sacrifice fly.

Two batters after Dan Jennings relieved Sanchez, Uggla singled to left to score Michael Bourn and Martin Prado.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami’s Jose Reyes extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a fourth-inning bunt single. ...
