White Sox 4, Blue Jays 2:
Jake Peavy struck out seven over 7 1/3 strong innings as American League Central leader Chicago won its fourth straight.

Peavy (7-5) scattered five hits and walked two while throwing 115 pitches. He gave up a solo homer to Toronto’s Adam Lind in the second inning but did not allow another runner to advance past second base.

Matt Thornton retired the final two batters in the eighth inning and Addison Reed picked up his 13th save despite allowing a run in the ninth.

The White Sox took the lead for good with three runs in the fifth against Aaron Laffey (0-1). Alexei Ramirez tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI single and put Chicago in front when he scored on Gordon Beckham's double. Kevin Youkilis followed with an RBI base hit.

A.J. Pierzynski added an insurance run with a solo homer in the sixth inning.

Toronto scored its final run on a sacrifice fly by Yunel Escobar.

Laffey went six innings, giving up eight hits and walking one while striking out four.
