Recap

Blue Jays 5, Angels 0:
J.P. Arencibia hit a three-run homer and Brandon Morrow threw his second career complete game as the Blue Jays won their third straight contest.

Arencibia ended a 21-inning scoreless streak by Angels pitchers with his third-inning blast off Dan Haren (1-2), who gave up five runs – three earned – over seven innings.

Morrow (3-1) threw 102 pitches and limited the Angels to three hits with no walks and eight strikeouts for his first complete game since Aug. 8, 2010, when he threw a one-hitter with 17 strikeouts against Tampa Bay.

Arencibia spoiled the Angels’ bid for their third consecutive shutout with his second home run, and the Blue Jays added to their lead when Edwin Encarnacion’s error allowed two runs to score in the sixth inning.

The bottom three batters in Toronto’s batting order - Brett Lawrie, Colby Rasmus and Arencibia – were 4-for-10 with three runs scored. Encarnacion went 0-for-4 to snap his eight-game hitting streak.
