Rays 8, Rangers 4: Evan Longoria hit two homers and B.J. Upton and Elliot Johnson also went deep as visiting Tampa Bay torched Texas All-Star Matt Harrison for the second time this season.

Jeff Keppinger went 4-for-5 and Ben Zobrist had three hits as the Rays banged out 16 hits and broke a four-game losing skid.

Tampa Bay touched up Harrison (15-8) for seven runs and 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings. The Rays racked up seven runs (six earned) and a career-worst 14 hits against the Texas left-hander back in April.

The American League West-leading Rangers were held to one hit over the final 4 1/3 innings by five Tampa Bay relievers while falling for just the second time in eight games.

Tampa Bay jumped on Harrison for three runs in both the first and second innings. Zobrist doubled in a run in the opening inning and Longoria smacked a two-run homer to center.

Upton hit a three-run blast to left in the second to make it 6-0.

Texas scored four unanswered runs to get back in the game. Mitch Moreland hit a two-run homer in the second, Nelson Cruz drove in a run on a third-inning fielder’s choice and Josh Hamilton hit his 36th homer in the fifth.

Johnson’s homer in the sixth pushed Tampa Bay’s lead back to three runs. Longoria hit a solo shot to center in the ninth.

Jake McGee (5-2) was credited with the victory. He hurled a scoreless sixth inning.

Rays starter Alex Cobb allowed four runs (three earned) and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Keppinger had three of his four hits against Harrison and is 6-for-6 against the lefty this season. … Rangers OF Nelson Cruz (elbow) was in the lineup one night after leaving the game after being hit by a pitch. He went 1-for-4. … Upton stole his 25th base, leaving him five shy of his fifth consecutive 30-steal campaign. … Texas turned four double plays.
