Recap

Rays 5, Angels 0: David Price pitched a five-hit shutout and four Tampa Bay hitters homered as the Rays won for the fifth time in their last six games.

Desmond Jennings put the Rays on top to stay when he led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run to left field against Ervin Santana (0-4). Luke Scott, B.J. Upton and Carlos Peña added solo shots in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, respectively, with Upton adding a sacrifice fly in the sixth to make it a five-run game.

That was more than enough for Price (3-1), who struck out six and walked just one. He retired the first nine batters he faced on just 30 pitches and allowed just one runner to reach second base before the ninth inning, when Los Angeles left runners on the corners. Price threw 119 pitches in the first complete game by a Tampa Bay pitcher this season.

Santana gave up five runs on eight hits in five-plus innings, walking one and striking out four. Torii Hunter had two of the Angels' five hits.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Rays improved to 6-1 at home ... Santana became the first Angels pitcher since Don Sutton in 1986 to allow two or more homers in each of his first four starts ... The Tampa Bay pitching staff has not yielded a home run in its last 52 innings ... Attendance was a season-low 14,933 at Tropicana Field.
