Recap

Rangers 7, Yankees 3:
Adrian Beltre homered and drove in three runs as host Texas won a club-record sixth consecutive series and improved to a major league-best 15-4.

Mike Napoli and Mitch Moreland also homered for Texas, which has won 11 of its last 13 games and matched the best 19-game start in team history.

The Rangers scored three runs in the third off Phil Hughes (1-3), who allowed four runs on five hits over 2 2/3 innings. Texas, which won the final two games of the series after losing the opener, has won 12 straight regular-season series dating back to last year.

Leading 5-2 after five innings, Texas pulled away in the sixth on Moreland’s solo shot and Beltre’s RBI single. Raul Ibanez hit his seventh home run in the seventh for New York.

Scott Feldman and four Texas relievers combined to hold the Yankees to eight hits. Robbie Ross (4-0) earned the win with 2 2/3 perfect innings in relief.

The Yankees’ loss came just hours after the team learned pitcher Michael Pineda will miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Pineda, who will have surgery Tuesday, was acquired during the off-season from Seattle for catcher Jesus Montero. ... Andy Pettitte gave up four runs – three earned – over five innings Wednesday in a rehab start with Double-A Trenton. He’s expected to make two more starts before joining the Yankees. … Derek Jeter went 2-for-4 and extended his hitting streak to 15 games. … Hughes had not allowed a run in 16 1/3 regular season innings at Rangers Ballpark before Beltre’s solo blast leading off the second inning.
