Recap

Rays 2, Orioles 0:
B.J. Upton hit his 100th career homer, Desmond Jennings also delivered a solo shot and rookie Matt Moore pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings as host Tampa Bay won for the fifth time in its last six games.

Moore (8-7) allowed six hits, walked three and struck out six to improve to 7-2 with a 3.06 ERA in his last 11 starts. Baltimore had at least one runner on in every inning against Moore and left the bases loaded in the first.

Adam Jones and Matt Wieters had two hits apiece and starter Tommy Hunter (4-7) allowed two runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings for the Orioles, who had won three of their previous four games.

Upton hit Hunter’s first pitch in the fourth inning - a fastball down the middle - over the center field fence for his 10th of the season.

Jennings drove Hunter’s 2-2 fastball over the left field wall to lead off the sixth. Jones took extra bases away from Carlos Pena – and saved at least one run – with a leaping catch against the right-center field wall later in the inning.

Baltimore threatened in the eighth inning with runners on first and second with one out before Tampa Bay’s Joel Peralta struck out Mark Reynolds looking at a 3-2 pitch and pinch hitter Wilson Betemit swinging on three pitches.

Fernando Rodney pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his major league-leading 32nd save in 33 chances.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Upton and his brother, Justin, both hit their 100th career home run Friday, the first brother duo to do so on the same day in major-league history, according to Elias Sports Bureau. They are the sixth brother pair with 100 homers apiece. ... Upton became the eighth player in major league history to record 100 homers and 200 stolen bases before his 28th birthday, which is Aug. 21. Upton has 220 stolen bases. … Moore is 2-1 with a 1.15 ERA against Baltimore this season. … Hunter fell to 2-2 against the Rays. ... Orioles reliever Darren O'Day retired all six batters he faced.
