Blue Jays 8, Orioles 6: Brett Lawrie had three hits and three RBIs to power host Toronto to its second straight victory over Baltimore.

Rajai Davis also had three hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Blue Jays sent the Orioles to their fourth consecutive defeat and seventh loss in nine games.

Staked to an 8-1 lead, Ricky Romero (6-1) allowed four runs and six hits in six innings to improve to 4-0 in his last four starts against Baltimore.

Orioles starter Jake Arrieta (2-6) lost his fourth straight decision, lasting 4 1/3 innings and giving up seven runs on six hits.

Adam Jones went 3-for-3 with a pair of two-run homers to extend his career-high hitting streak to 20 games and Chris Davis added three hits and a two-run blast to spark a belated rally for Baltimore, which had the go-ahead run at the plate in the ninth.

Lawrie had a two-run double and scored on Davis' single in a three-run fourth to give Toronto a 5-1 lead. It ended a 13-game RBI drought for Lawrie, who extended his hitting streak to seven games.

The Blue Jays added three runs against Arrieta and rookie Miguel Gonzalez in the fifth on consecutive RBI singles by Lawrie, David Cooper and Davis to make it 8-1.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jones' hitting streak is the longest for Baltimore since Melvin Mora hit safely in 23 games in 2003. ... Lawrie has hit in all eight games against the Orioles this season. ... Orioles C Matt Wieters was ejected in the fifth inning for arguing balls and strikes, the first time he's been tossed in his career. ... Toronto sent LF Eric Thames to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. Thames was mired in an 18-for-92 (.196) slump in the past 28 games.  IF Mike McCoy was called up to take his roster spot. ... Baltimore demoted RHP Tommy Hunter to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. Hunter lasted a season-low three innings in Monday's 6-2 loss to Toronto and is winless in his last six starts. The Orioles activated OF Endy Chavez off the 15-day disabled list and promoted RHP Miguel Gonzalez from Norfolk.
