Betemit drove a 3-1 fastball over the fence in center field in the second while Davis took Drabek's 2-0 offering in the fourth to the left field seats for an opposite-field shot. Adam Jones added an RBI double in the eighth.

Hammel got out of a jam when he struck out Colby Rasmus on a 3-2 fastball with the bases loaded in the fourth and survived leadoff singles in the sixth and seventh.
