Josh Hamilton's single in the bottom of the ninth inning drove in Ian Kinsler as the Texas Rangers rallied for a 7-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.
Kinsler's two-run homer in the seventh off Josh Lueke cut the deficit to 6-5 and Yorvit Torrealba doubled over right fielder Ichiro Suzuki’s head to tie it in the eighth.
Neftali Perez (2-3) pitched a scoreless ninth, and Endy Chavez hit a
two-run homer and went 3-for-5 as Texas maintained its 1½-game lead over
Los Angeles in the American League West.
Adam Kennedy hit a two-run triple and Miguel Olivo had a sacrifice fly in the third as Seattle built a 6-3 lead.
Suzuki singled in the sixth, but finished 1-for-5 and is in a 6-for-46 slump against the Rangers, who have won six straight over the Mariners and are 10-2 against them this season.
